Low carbon schools recognised in Awards
11 schools across Queensland have been recognised for their sustainable efforts as part of the Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland 2009 Green and Healthy Schools Awards.
The Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) was a proud sponsor of one of the Award categories - the Low Carbon School Award category - which challenged schools to focus on reducing their carbon footprint and designing innovative ways of minimising the effects of climate change.
Congratulations to all the regional winners for the 2009 Low Carbon School Award! Winners will now go into the draw for the State Awards in late October.
