What the Queensland Government is doing

The Queensland Government is committed to tackling the climate change challenge, and is working in partnership with industry, business and the community to reduce the state's carbon footprint and build resilience to climate change impacts.

ClimateQ: toward a greener Queensland is a $196 million investment in a suite of initiatives across key Queensland sectors-including energy, planning and building, business, community, primary industries, ecosystems, transport and government-designed to engage Queenslanders in practical action to respond to climate change impacts and reduce emissions.

Toward Q2: Tomorrow's Queensland

The Queensland Government's Toward Q2: Tomorrow's Queensland strategy outlines the government's commitment to tackling climate change and helping Queenslanders reduce their carbon footprint.

The strategy includes a 2020 Q2 Green Target of cutting the State's household carbon footprint by a third - however this cannot be achieved without community action.

Electric vehicles in Queensland

Honouring its commitment to support the global deployment of electric vehicles, the Queensland Government is currently developing an electric vehicle policy. The policy, will support the introduction of electric vehicles to Queensland.
