Rebates and grants
Going green at home needn't cost you the earth with a range of state and federal government rebates, grants and funding available to help you reduce your household carbon footprint.
Below is a summary of some on offer:
Queensland
- Low Carbon Diet Community Funding – grants from $2,000 to $10,000 available to help community groups work together to implement the Low Carbon Diet.
- Queensland Solar Hot Water Program – fully installed solar hot water systems at a reduced price for Queensland households, pensioners and concession card holders.
- Solar bonus scheme – pays households and other small customers for the surplus electricity generated from roof-top solar photovoltaic (PV) panel systems that is exported to the Queensland electricity grid.
Federal
- The Federal Government website has a range of rebates, funding and loans available to help householders with ceiling insulation, solar, water, and energy matters.
Local government
- Some Queensland local governments also offer assistance to help you go green. Contact your relevant local council for more information.
